　　TheCollege’sInternationalDepartmentwasestablishedfiveyearsago.TheCollegehasaroundfiftyinternationalstudents.CurrentlytherearestudentsfromJapan,China,Pakistan,USA,Ghana,NigeriaandtheMiddleEast.InternationalstudentsareabletostudyanyoftheA/AS-levelsubjectsonofferaswellastakinganintensiveEnglishcourse.ThefinancialcapitalofthenorthofEngland,withapopulationofover700,000,Leedsisalivelyandcosmopolitancity.ItboastsmoregreenparkspaceperheadthananyothercityinEuropeandisonlyashortdriveawayfromtheYorkshireDales,theancientcityofYork,andtheeastcoastholidayresorts.

　　Academicstrengths

　　Around85percentoftheCollege’sstudentsgotouniversityeachyear,includingOxfordandCambridge.TheCollegeislocatedimmediatelyoppositeLeedsUniversity.NotreDameCatholicSixthFormCollegeistheonlysixthformcollegeinLeeds.TheCollegehasjustover1300studentsagedsixteentonineteen,bothboysandgirls,andteachesmainlyA-levelsforentrytouniversity.

　　ThehomestayfamilieswherestudentsstayduringtheirtimeattheCollegeareespeciallychosen,andtheCollegewillendeavourtoplaceastudentwithafamilyitthinkstheywillbehappywith.Studentswillhavetheirownprivatestudy-bedroom.

　　TheCollegehasalargelibrary,abrandnewInformationTechnology(I.T)suite,asportshall,languageandsciencelaboratories,andalargelecturetheatreandassemblyhall.ThenewI.T.suitehasover100newcomputersforstudentuse.Everystudenthasinternetandemailaccess,andforeignlanguagecharactersareavailableonallmachines.

　　InternationalstudentswillbeofferedtheopportunitytovisitplacesofinterestintheUK.ThesewillincludeLondon,YorkandtheLakeDistrict.Ifthereisanyplacestudentswouldliketovisit,theycansuggestthistotheDepartmentLeedshasaninternationalairport,andtheCollegerunsafreepick-upservicefromhere.Localtripstothecinemas,ten-pinbowling,thetheatreetc.willalsobeavailableduringtheyear.DuringSeptembertheCollegetakesstudentsonatouraroundLeedscitycentretohelpstudentsfamiliarisethemselveswiththecity.
