  KaleenHighSchoolwasfoundedin1978.KaleenHighSchoolisforchildrenagedbetween11and16yearsprovidinganeducationalprogramforstudentsfromyear7toyear10inmainstreamclassesandtwoLearningSupportUnits(LSU)forstudentswithAutismSpectrumDisorder.

  In2009,KaleenHighSchoolhad211studentswithapproximatelyonepercentofthestudentpopulationbeingrecognisedashavingIndigenousheritage.Classsizeswerekeptsmalltoassistteachersinpresentingthemostappropriateprogramandinmeetingindividualstudentneeds.

  In2009,KaleenHighSchoolhadapproximately20percentofthestudentpopulationidentifiedashavingspecialneeds.KaleenHighSchoolprovidesinclusiveprogramsandmanyofourspecialneedsstudentsareintegratedintothemainstreamclassroomstofurtherdeveloptheirsocialandacademicskills.

  UCHighSchoolKaleenisafullyaccessibleandinclusiveschoolthatcatersforadiversegroupofstudents.TheDisabilityDiscriminationAct(1991)andtheDisabilityStandardsforEducation(2005)informandguideourpractices.
